Oxford speedway devotees should all thank our local Oxford Mail for so much publicity and stories published keeping speedway in the memories of Oxford readers.

So many did so much, the Oxford Labour City Council that stopped the stadium's demolition, the rank and file Save Oxford Stadium campaign who were always working hard and doing so much for the cause often behind the scenes. The new leaseholder for backing our future with his money and all those involved to make our day with the announcement from the Stadiums management team that the Oxford Cheetahs will return to Sandy Lane track in the spring.

Fourteen years of keeping the faith. Somehow we did it. What an achievement after 14 years of struggle.

Spring, Summer and the Autumn 2022 Wednesday nights will be Oxford speedway and the now neglected Reading, Swindon, Coventry and even London fans will not have far to come to enjoy the thrills and competitive racing on Oxford's great track - we won't let them down.

The input that Speedway Plus gave us to keep the Oxford Cheetahs name and history alive was always magnificent and so important. Your hard work ensured that we had support right across the UK throughout the campaign. The Speedway family stood with us. Thank you.

The Cheetahs will Roar into the 2022 Championship League. Back where they belong.
