Murray Burt - You Have Two Minutes
By Tracy Holmes

What are you up to these days?

I was a school bus driver for 2 years, now I drive a skip-bin truck for a glass company.

How's the health?

Still alive!

Any family stuff you would like to share?

My daughter is now married and lives in Dubai so we have been over to see her a few times.

Do you see any speedway these days?

I have not been to any meetings but I keep up with the results. I have contact with a couple of drivers at my work.

Fond memories?

What would we have done without speedway in my young days? I used to compete in the stock-cars before the stadium [Templeton] was built which is now the car track. I raced a Buick and we used to work Saturdays and Sundays building the speedway. The Buick cost 15 pound!

Well done Murray! [1965 NZ Solo Champion, Newcastle Diamond, NZ Midget Car ace, Saloon car supremo] Thanks for that and keep on truckin...

"Murray continues to live in Christchurch, 'Shakey City' New Zealand in his lovely Avonhead home with his award winning and spectacular garden. "
