Nightmare Team : Derek Watson

Being a slightly older Tiger's fan my memory can go back a bit further. You won't find too many current riders in my team!!

Mick Newton
Big signing in 1978 from BL Halifax via Stoke. He had been a good second string the year before but ended up losing his place to a junior called Charlie McKinna!

Des Wilson
Incredibly signed as a heat leader in 1982 despite being only a 4 point man the year before in a really bad Workington side. Was Steve Lawson's pal which helped him.Was known as the fastest man over 30 yards(as was!), pity about the rest of the track!!

Phil Disney
Signed as a reserve in 1991. Lightning fast gater who couldn't stay on!

Mark Crang
Signed on loan from Belle Vue in 1985 but was really wild. Wiped himself out in second match at Mildenhall and didn't get round Craighead Park much better!! Might say more for Belle Vue's judgement, they bought him from Middlesbrough for £6000!

Tim Korneliussen
Dane signed in 1992,who had broken his leg at Shawfield two years before. Always looked scared of the bends, shutting off too early.

Eric Broadbelt
He may have been an England International in his time but by the time Tigers got him he was well past it. Rode at Middlesbrough scoring 4 points but lasted all of 40 yards at Craighead Park. Was never seen again but Tigers did get R/R for a time, somehow!

Dalle Andersson
He may have had a good season last year but Tigers fans remember his stint in 1998.Had finished runner-up to Jason Crump a few years previous in the World U21s but at times struggled to beat opposing reserves. He often flattered to deceive. Scoring a home maximum against Arena then following it up with scores of :5,6,3,4+1 and 1+1!!

Honourable mentions to: Terry Kelly, Alan Mason, Nathan Murray and Kevin Armitage.
